Milwaukee Wave News Release
(Milwaukee, WI) The Milwaukee Wave organization announced today that, subject to MISL approval, Charles Krause has been appointed Managing Partner of the Wave indoor and Wave United outdoor professional soccer clubs. Krause is the father of Timothy Krause, who initially acquired the Wave indoor team prior to the 2001-02 season.
Charles Krause has been a major investor with the Wave since 2002. He is also the President and CEO of Krause Consultants Ltd., a local firm that provides strategic planning and business consulting services for over 200 customers worldwide. Krause is also a widely sought after public speaker and author of the book "FASTRACK Business Management: The Minute MBA".
"I'm excited and enthusiastic about the future of the Wave organization," said Krause. "I'm very encouraged by the leadership in our front office under Mike Lafferty, the direction of our team led by Keith Tozer, and the loyalty and support of our fans."
A part-owner of the London-based Queens Park Rangers F.C. (a Division One club in the English Football Association), Tim Krause felt the time was right for his father to become Managing Partner.
"Due to my increasing commitments overseas, I felt this was the right move to make." said Tim Krause, President and CEO of World Sports Ventures, Ltd. "My dad's been involved with the Wave organization for quite some time so he's the logical choice to be the Managing Partner since I can't be in two places at the same time."
The Wave opens the 2004-05 Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) regular season on Saturday, October 23, 7 PM against the Chicago Storm at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago, IL. Milwaukee's home opener is slated for Friday, October 29, 7:05 PM when the Wave hosts the Storm at U.S. Cellular Arena featuring a post-game concert by the popular local group "The Love Monkeys."
Tickets for all Wave home games ($20, $16, $14, and $12) are available at the Wisconsin Center District (WCD) Box Office, located between U.S. Cellular Arena and the Milwaukee Theater at 510 W. Kilbourn Ave., all TicketMaster Outlets, or by phone charge at 414-276-4545. Groups of 10 or more should contact the Wave's Group Sales Dept. at 414-224-WAVE (9283) for group rate discounts.
