
Wave Kicks Off 35th Season With Win

The Milwaukee Wave started their historic 35th season with a satisfying 10 - 6 win over the Kansas City Comets Saturday night in downtown Milwaukee.
Kansas City didn't waste much time and started off the night with a goal from defender #14, Alain Matingo. A little over a minute later, Milwaukee Wave defender , #18 Issac Pereyra answered back with a goal of his own and the team didn't look back.
Milwaukee Wave goals came from #18 Issac Pereya , forward #9 Robert Renaud, midfielder #8 Luan Oliviera, forward #99 Andrea Hayne, midfielder #28 Angel 'Chino' Curiel had two goals, midfielder #26 Ian Bennett had four.
"I thought everyone had a really strong game tonight," said Milwaukee Wave Head Coach Giuliano Oliviero. "It's great to get a convincing win when you know you're still not at midseason form. Overall, I'm very happy but I did see some things we could clean up."
The Wave now get ready to head to Kansas City in two weeks for the Comets home opener at Silverstein Eye Centers Arena in Independence, Missouri. Kick off is scheduled for 7:05pm CT, Saturday, December 15th on the Comets new blue turf.
"Winning on the road in this league is never easy," said Oliviero. "And now that Kansas City saw what we're all about and they're going to make their adjustments, but we're just going to continue to get grow. We know what kind of players we have in the attack that can execute offensively, so we're looking forward to it."
