Wave FC Announces Complete Roster Ahead of 2022 Challenge Cup

San Diego Wave Fútbol Club today announced its complete roster ahead of the 2022 Challenge Cup. The team trains under Head Coach Casey Stoney, Assistant Coaches Rich Gunney and Victoria Boardman, and Goalkeeper Coach Louis Hunt as they prepare for the club's inaugural season in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL).

San Diego opens Challenge Cup play on March 19, traveling to face fellow Southern California expansion club Angel City FC at 6 p.m. PT from Titan Stadium at California State Fullerton in a match that will be aired nationally on Paramount+. Wave FC will play its first official home match from Torero Stadium at University of San Diego, squaring off with Portland Thorns on March 26 at 7:00 p.m. PT (Paramount+).

Wave FC enters the season with 24 players representing six international soccer federations: Alex Morgan and Abby Dahlkemper (USA), Carley Telford and Jody Taylor (England), Sofia Jakobsson (Sweden), Kailen Sheridan (Canada), Emily van Egmond (Australia) and Katie Johnson (Mexico).
