October 30, 2004 - Major Indoor Soccer League 2 (MISL 2)
Milwaukee Wave News Release

(Milwaukee, WI) Ryan Futagaki's overtime goal at 4:33 of the extra period gave the Chicago Storm (1-1) a 9-8 win over the Milwaukee Wave (1-1) Friday night (10/29) at the U.S. Cellular Arena in Milwaukee, WI. The Storm victory in Milwaukee's 2004-05 Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) regular season home opener avenged an 8-3 win by the Wave in Chicago's home opener last Saturday (10/23).

Chris Carrieri's sixth attacker goal with 10 seconds left in the fourth quarter tied the score at 8-8 and gave Chicago its opportunity to win in overtime. Carrieri's goal, a sensational full volley off a rebound from 15 feet away, came just 34 seconds after the Wave's Troy Dusosky had broken a 7-7 deadlock with a bouncing 30 footer just inside the left post. It was Dusosky's third goal of the night and looked to be the game-winner until Carrieri's heroics forced overtime.

Jorge Valle led Chicago's attack with three goals and an assist for four points. Valle scored back-to-back goals late in the third quarter to erase a 7-5 Milwaukee lead. Valle's first goal also ended an initial 3-0 run for the Wave which featured goals from Matt Scmidt, Michael King, and Dusosky. Troy Dusosky also finished with four points on three goals and an assist, while his twin brother Todd had three points (one goal, two assists) before departing near the end of the first half due to a back injury. Danny Waltman (1-0) earned the victory for Chicago by stopping 19-of-27 shots in his MISL debut. Dan Green (0-1) saved 10-of-19 in taking the loss.

The two teams meet again at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago, IL on November 26. Meanwhile, the Storm will host Cleveland on Wednesday (11/3) while the Wave gets ready to entertain Kansas City on Saturday, November 6, 6:05 PM at U.S. Cellular Arena.

The first 5,000 fans will receive a 2004-05 Wave Schedule Poster and it's also the Wave Kick-Off for the United Way Campaign, with fans asked to bring new hats and mittens to be collected and distributed to various United Way Agencies.

Tickets for all Wave home games ($20, $16, $14, and $12) are available at the Wisconsin Center District (WCD) Box Office, located between U.S. Cellular Arena and the Milwaukee Theater at 510 W.
