Milwaukee Wave News Release
The Wave won 14-12 over the Rochester Lancers extending their winning streak to six games and improving their record to 7-2. Rookie, Luan Oliveira, recorded a hat trick along with two assists totaling eight points on the night.
The scoring started early with the Wave's Oliveria finding the back of the net quickly and Doug Miller answering with two goals of his own in the first three minutes of play. Marcio Leite and Ian Bennett would score for Milwaukee to give the Wave a 6-4 lead after the first quarter.
Jeremy Ortiz would tie the game early in the second quarter for the Lancers. But, Milwaukee would get goals by Hewerton and Oliveria to take a 10-6 lead into the locker room for the halftime interval.
Oliveria would get his hat trick and the lone goal in a very defensive third quarter of action.
The Lancers would make the finish an exciting one as Miller scored on a penalty kick to get the Lancers to within four points. With Ortiz on as the sixth attacker, Bennett would score his second of the game to push the Wave lead back to six. The Lancers would get goals by Paul Craig and Stephen Basso in the last three minutes to pull within two points, but the equalizer never came and the Wave won 14-12.
