Franklin, Wisconsin - Seven is magic for The Milwaukee Wave!
On Saturday, December 7th , the defending Major Arena Soccer League Champion Milwaukee Wave's Home Opener at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena will celebrate the team's 7th Championship, including a pre-game 2019 MASL Championship Ring Ceremony and Banner Drop. Game time is 7:07pm; doors open at 6:07pm. The Wave will also introduce a new look this year, with a fresh black-and-yellow uniform color scheme.
The league got a taste of Wave action - and the magic number seven - when Milwaukee defeated the Ambush 7-2 at the Friday, November 29th season opener in St. Louis. The game was highlighted by a spectacular bicycle kick goal by #26 Ian Bennett, one of two goals he scored in that game, and just a peek at what's in store for the new season.
"The home opener is a special night for us and the fans," said Wave coach Giuliano Oliviero. "We've been looking forward to celebrating our championship season at the Arena and recognizing the amazing support the team gets at each and every home game, and the Ring Ceremony will be especially meaningful."
The Wave faces the Florida Tropics, and the first 3000 fans will receive a free Milwaukee Wave magnet schedule.
Fans can also look forward to a Halftime Dance Competition, and, as always, a post-game autograph session on the field with the players.
Founded in 1984, the Milwaukee Wave are the longest-running continuously operating professional soccer team in the United States. They took a 21-3 record into the playoffs last season, ultimately defeating the Monterrey Flash to claim the Ron Newman Cup and their seventh title.
Wave Game Day Host Van the Man McNeil and mascot Brad Beach will be at each and every home game pumping up the crowd. Returning this year are fan favorites like Third Quarter Lights Out and post-game on-field autographs with the team.
