
Washington Takes Second Game 5-1

Washington Wild Things News Release
The Washington Wild Things, presented by Washington Federal Savings Bank, beat the Evansville Otters 5-1 in front of a sell-out crowd of 3,419 Wednesday at Falconi Field in the second of their three game series.
Doug Garcia and Jake Bollig each hit two-run homers in the second inning and Matt McDonell shut out Evansville over seven innings to lead Washington the 5-1 victory.
Otter pitcher Brett Lewis only lasted three plus innings and was charged with the loss. McDonnell was strong throughout the game for Washington. McDonell improved his record to 3-1. Brett Lewis dropped to 1-2.
Joe Cuervo added an insurance run in the third inning with a sacrifice fly. Otter right fielder Terrance Brackley ruined the shutout in the eighth inning with a solo home run off of reliever Keith Strickland
The Wild Things complete their series Thursday evening against the Otters at 7:05. Ben Ally and Jeremy Lewis are the probable starters for Washington and Evansville.
Wild Things' fans will enjoy Dollar Thurst-day at the park when all beverages will cost one dollar. The Tommy Maddox Celebrity Softball Classic takes place at Falconi Field on Saturday June 28th at 7:05.
