Kings Bats Come Alive to Oust Paints

In front of a crowd of 2,492 fans the Kalamazoo Kings won their second straight game with an 11-0 win over the Chillicothe Paints.

Denny McGee went nine scoreless innings, giving up six hits, while striking out four to get his second win of the season. Mark Morris started the onslaught in the bottom of the second singling to bring home Steve Hindman. Tory Haven hit a two-run homerun in the third, making it his second on the season. Haven also collected two hits playing his first game in right field. Steve Hindman and Tim Frankhouse collected three hits on the night while Mark Morris, Delvin Haskell, and Walt Simmons each had two hits apiece. Simmons also homered in the bottom of the seventh, his fourth of the season.

The Kings return to action tomorrow night at Homer Stryker Field to take on the Chillicothe Paints for the last game of the series. Game time is set for 6:35 p.m. The first 1,000 fans through the gate will receive a strip of Kalamazoo Kings baseball cards, courtesy of Shoe Carnival.
