Everett, Wash. - The National Lacrosse League announced its weekly award winners today with Stealth goaltender Kevin Croswell being named Defensive Player of the Week. Croswell was signed as a free agent last week and in his first game with the Stealth he led the team to a 14-9 victory over the Toronto Rock.

Croswell started the 2012 season with the Edmonton Rush, but was released by the team after one game, in which he did not play. Stealth starting goaltender Tyler Richards was set to miss his second straight game due to injury, resulting in the Stealth signing Croswell last week.

Croswell made contributions in a big way last weekend as the Stealth put together its best performance of the 2012 season. The 6'4" netminder made 41 saves on 50 shots as the Stealth allowed a season-low nine goals against a potent Toronto Rock offense.

"It's a great feeling to come in and contribute to a win like this," said Croswell after the game. "The team came out firing and gave me a lot of confidence. Got a couple saves early and the defense in front of me made it easy for me throughout the game."

Croswell made 13 of his 41 saves in the first quarter, allowing the Stealth to jump out to a 3-0 lead and never look back. He even tallied an assist on the team's second goal of the game, finding defenseman Eric Martin with a long outlet pass that led to a breakaway goal.

The performance by Croswell, who is in his fifth NLL season, provided a much-needed spark for the 2-6 Stealth.

"It's so uplifting for the entire team for a goalie to make some big saves early on," added Hall. "(Croswell) got comfortable in the first quarter and he was solid throughout the game."

The Stealth is back in action this weekend, taking on the West Division-leading Colorado Mammoth in a home-and-home series. The Stealth will be in Denver on Saturday followed by a trip back to the Comcast Arena on Sunday evening. Sunday's game, entitled "Mascot Madness", is scheduled to begin at 4:45pm PST.

Tickets for "Mascot Madness" at the Comcast Arena at Everett start at just $7 and are available by calling 877-MY-75-TIX or at www.stealthlax.com.
