Washington Stealth Defenseman Moleski Earns NLL Weekly Award

Washington Stealth News Release
Everett, Wash. - The National Lacrosse League has announced its weekly award winners for week seven of the 2011 season. Washington Stealth defenseman Jeff Moleski earned Defensive Player of the Week honors after a career performance in last weekend's 20-7 win over the Colorado Mammoth at the Comcast Arena at Everett.
Moleski did a lot more than just defend against the Mammoth. He recorded his first career hat trick in the game, along with helping the Stealth defense allow just seven goals, the lowest goal total for a Stealth opponent this season. Two of Moleski's goals came in the Stealth's eight-goal second quarter with his final tally coming early in the fourth as the Stealth extended its lead to 14-4.
It was the first time this season Moleski, who was acquired by the Stealth in a trade with the Calgary Roughnecks prior to this season, found the back of the net in a Stealth uniform. He now has seven points (3g, 4a) in nine games this season.
Moleski, considered one of the game's premiere defenders and a recent selection to represent Team Canada in the World Indoor Lacrosse Championships, has appeared in 94 games in his seven-year career. He has recorded 31 goals and 40 assists for 71 points and grabbed 528 loose balls.
The Stealth is not in action this weekend, but will return to the floor on March 5 to take on the Edmonton Rush at Rexall Place in Edmonton, Alberta. The game is scheduled to begin at 6pm PST and can be seen live on the NLL Netwrok at NLL.com.
