Mallory Pugh sent in a beautiful corner kick in the 33' that found Kayla Sharples who was able to head it towards the goal that ultimately deflected off Julia Roddar into the net, to give the Red Stars the 1-0 lead that would hold for the remainder of the match. Roddar was credited with the own goal.
