
Washington Spirit Announce Wegmans Sponsorship for First Responders Night

Boyds, MD. - The Washington Spirit and Wegmans Food Market Inc. are proud to announce they have reached an agreement for Wegmans to sponsor the Hospitality Suite for the Spirit's first-ever First Responders Night.
The agreement will have Wegmans provide beverages for the first 120 first responders to visit the suite. This partnership is the first of its kind for the Spirit.
The Spirit will be hosting their first-ever First Responders Night on July 20 against the Houston Dash at the Maryland SoccerPlex.
Wegmans holds belief in the power of local communities, stating: "Supporting a variety of local fundraisers and events is the everyday way Wegmans builds community relationships. We support local PTAs, faith-based organizations providing humanitarian support, youth sports, town celebrations, and community-built playgrounds."
In 2018 Wegmans donated over 14.5 million pounds of food to food banks across the region and over 24 million dollars to charities.
Wegmans is a regional supermarket chain with 99 stores: 46 in New York, 18 in Pennsylvania, 9 in New Jersey, 12 in Virginia, 8 in Maryland, and 6 in Massachusetts. It is one of the largest private companies in the United States.
