Washington Spirit News Release
Washington, D.C. - The Washington Spirit has acquired two future draft picks from Racing Louisville FC in exchange for midfielder Jordan Baggett, the clubs announced today.
Louisville sent its natural 2024 second round pick and a conditional natural 2025 third round pick to the Spirit in the deal. Washington will acquire Louisville's natural 2025 third round pick pending conditions met.
"We greatly appreciate everything Jordan has contributed to this club," said Head Coach Mark Parsons. "It's clear that she has left a positive impact in her four years here and we wish her all the best as she continues her professional career."
Baggett was in her fifth year with the Spirit after being selected by the club with the third overall pick in the 2019 NWSL College Draft. Across her first four seasons in Washington, Baggett appeared in 42 total matches for the Spirit, scoring five goals and adding one assist in over 2,500 total minutes of playing time. Baggett was part of the 2021 Spirit team that won the club's first-ever NWSL Championship. Prior to her time in DC, Baggett played four seasons with the Stanford Cardinal, appearing in 92 matches and tallying 31 goals and 23 assists. She was a member of the 2017 national championship-winning team and earned First Team All-American honors following her senior campaign in 2018.
