Washington Mystics Unveil New Nike Rebel Edition Uniform

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The 2023 Washington Mystics Nike Rebel Edition uniform is inspired by civil rights pioneer and educator Nannie Helen Burroughs, who started the National Training School for Women and Girls and subsequently, one of the first women's basketball teams in D.C. Washington will wear the new Rebel Edition uniform for the first time on May 23 when they face the Connecticut Sun.

The design embraces the past and speaks to the true spirit of the real and powerful women who paved the way for all of us. Burroughs' words are incorporated into the subtle wave pattern across the uniform, which repeats "struggle, battle, overcome" - and on the belt buckle, which says "Think loudly, think boldly." The fonts used are a nod to the early 1900s and other design elements, such as the heart neck detail and filigree framing around the belt buckle and shoulders, represent aspects of both Burroughs' style and the school's architecture.

The 2023 Washington Mystics Nike Rebel Edition campaign is a resounding call for leaders everywhere. It is a celebration of and dedication to bold women defying definition.

Single game tickets for the 2023 Washington Mystics season presented by Capital One go on sale starting at noon on Friday, March 31. Every regular season game and match up will be available, including the Mystics home opener match up against the new look New York Liberty. All fans who purchase single game tickets on March 31, will receive a 23% discount on a future purchase at the Mystics Online Team Store.
