New York Liberty Pay Homage to City's Rich Basketball History with 2023 WNBA Nike Rebel Uniforms

NEW YORK - The New York Liberty unveiled its 2023 WNBA Nike Rebel Edition uniform featuring the franchise's iconic seafoam colorway.

Already established as one of the WNBA's top-selling jerseys over the past two seasons, the Liberty's "EQUALITY" wordmark will continue to serve as the centerpiece of the jersey -representing the team's ongoing commitment to equality and social justice.

The 2023 version will feature several reimagined design elements, all of which represent the city's rich basketball lineage:

Through its classic typography and throwback sport monograms, the uniform pays respect to historical women's basketball clubs.

The large flame on the side of the shorts symbolizes the Statue of Liberty, passing her torch between past, present, and future athletes, and is at the heart of the Liberty's core identity.

A gritty, scattered black pattern on the jersey and shorts is a nod to streetball in New York City and the important role it plays in growing the game for the next generation of athletes.
