Washington Mystics to tour DC area

WHAT: Members of the media are invited to join the Washington Mystics Players and coaches on the "Playoff Trolley." The trolley will pick up the players at MCI Center and then take them on a tour of downtown Washington.

WHEN: Thursday, September 23rd from 2:00– 3:00 p.m.

WHERE: The trolley will pick up media on F Street outside of the main entrance of MCI Center. The trolley will proceed to the Capital, Georgetown and Dupont Circle to name a few then return to MCI Center.

Washington, D.C. – On Thursday, September 23rd, the Washington Mystics players and coaches will take part in a trolley tour of the District to celebrate the team's playoff berth. The trolley will leave from MCI Center at 2:00 p.m. and will return at 3:00 p.m. During the ride, the players will handout T-shirts and other goodies to fans along the way.

The Mystics finished the 2004 regular season fourth overall in the Eastern Conference with a 17-17 record. This marks the third trip to the WNBA playoffs in the teams' seven year history. The Mystics also made post-season appearances in 2000 and 2002.

The Washington Mystics will host the first game of its playoff series versus the Connecticut Sun this Saturday, September 25th at Noon at MCI Center. . The team will travel to Connecticut for the second game in the best of three series. Game two will be held on Monday, September 27th at 7:00 p.m. if necessary, will also take place in Connecticut on Wednesday, September 29th.
