Washington, D.C. - Washington Mystics General Manager and Head Coach Mike Thibault announced today that the team has acquired Quanitra Hollingsworth from the New York Liberty in exchange for Washington's third round pick (25th overall).

A 6-5 center from Virginia Commonwealth University, Hollingsworth was selected by the Minnesota Lynx in the first round (ninth overall) of the 2009 WNBA Draft where she averaged 4.8 points per game and 3.2 rebounds per game. She was traded to the New York Liberty prior to the 2011 season and recorded a career-high 4.2 rebounds per game that year.

Hollingsworth spent the 2012 season as a member of the Turkish National Team that finished fifth during the recent Olympic Games where she averaged 10.8 points and 5.7 rebounds. Due to her commitments with the Turkish National Team, she will join the Mystics in July.

"Although Quanitra will be in Turkey for the month of June with the National Team for the European Championships, we feel that her talent level will improve our roster down the road," said Thibault.

During her senior year, Hollingsworth was named the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Year.

The Mystics will now have the fourth, 17th and 19th picks in the 2013 WNBA draft.
