Warthogs kick-off Wally's Reading Program

Winston-Salem, NC â The Winston-Salem Warthogs announced on Tuesday they have kicked-off their Krispy Kreme/Chick-fil-A Wally's Reading Program. The program rewards students for reaching reading goals set by each school. Students earn prizes from Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Chick-fil-A and the Warthogs for each goal they meet. For every goal met the students will reach the next base on a baseball diamond. The students will be recognized during a Warthogs' pre-game ceremony when they reach home plate of the reading program. Each base takes approximately two weeks to complete. There are over 12,000 students and over 30 schools participating in the 2004 program.
