
Warthogs drops Visalia, 11-6, on Friday

Tucson, AZ â The Winston-Salem Warthogs defeated Visalia, 11-6, in spring training action Friday afternoon. It was the first spring training win for the Warthogs who improved to 1-4 against outside camp competition. The bats were in full swing during the win. Third baseman Troy Cameron was 5-5 at the plate. Shortstop Pedro Lopez had four hits, while first baseman Casey Rogowski and outfielder Brian Anderson each had two hits. All told, the Warthogs are 4-5 in spring training games against the White Sox minor league teams and teams from the Colorado and Arizona minor league system. Winston-Salem returns to action Saturday afternoon against the Lancaster Jethawks, the advanced A California League affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Warthogs open defense of their 2003 Carolina League championship April 9th at Kinston. Make plans to join us for the first ever Warthogs Fan Fest on Wednesday, April 7th.
