Oklahoma Warriors News Release
NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas-The Oklahoma Warriors lost a pair of games to the Lone Star Brahmas at NYTEX Sports Centre on Friday and Saturday.
Friday's game featured the most defensive duel so far in the 2023-24 season. A lone Brahmas goal halfway through the first period held up the rest of the way in a 1-0 Lone Star victory. Daniel Duris made 29 saves and kept the Warriors in the game the whole night. Oklahoma's 24 shots on goal-including three breakaways-were not enough.
The Warriors scored first on Saturday and held two separate leads in a 5-2 Lone Star win. Kaden Nelson put Oklahoma up 1-0 early in the second. Riley Brueck scored a power play goal later in the period for a 2-1 lead. The Brahmas would tie the game on the next shift, proceed to take the lead, and not look back.
Duris stopped 48 out of 53 shots he faced. Cooper Boulanger, William Ahlrik, and Nathan Rickey each collected an assist.
Oklahoma returns home to Blazers Ice Centre for a series with the New Mexico Ice Wolves on Friday, December 1, and Saturday, December 2. It is Champions of Learning Weekend as the Warriors partner with Roosevelt Academy. The team will wear special jerseys with a live postgame auction on Saturday. Plus, a Teddy Bear Toss during Saturday's game. Fans are encouraged to bring stuffed animals in for donation. Upon the Warriors scoring their first goal, fans can throw them on the ice for collection. Tickets are available at www.oklahomawarriors.com/tickets.
