Moose Jaw Warriors News Release
Moose Jaw, SK - The Moose Jaw Warriors have acquired a third round selection in the 2026 WHL Prospects Draft in a trade with the Edmonton Oil Kings on Monday.
Heading to Edmonton in the deal is 2004-born defenceman Matthew Gallant.
"This trade opens more opportunities for our younger defencemen to get into the lineup consistently and brings back a good draft asset in return," Warriors general manager Jason Ripplinger said.
Gallant appeared in 131 games over the past three seasons with the Warriors, posting seven goals and 33 points.
"We thank Matthew for his hard work and dedication to the organization during his time in Moose Jaw," Ripplinger said.
The move leaves the Warriors with seven defencemen on the team's 24-player roster.
Moose Jaw returns to game action coming up on Friday when the Swift Current Broncos come to the Moose Jaw Events Centre.
