
Warner Returning to Haymarket Park in 2004

Lincoln, NE- The Lincoln Saltdogs announced Wednesday that 2002 Northern League Most Valuable Player Bryan Warner will return to the team in 2004. Warner is the Saltdogs all-time leader in hits (310), home runs (37), and runs batted in (184).
"I'm excited for the chance to bring the fans of Lincoln a championship in 2004," Warner said. Warner hit .331 with 15 home runs and 78 runs batted in during his MVP season, and followed that up by hitting .317 with a league-leading 16 home runs and 69 runs batted in during the 2003 season. He has not missed a game in the past two years, in which time he's played in a league-leading 181 games.
Warner has been a Northern League All-Star in each of the past two seasons, and has not batted below .317 in any of his four seasons in the Northern League. He has a .296 batting average with 113 home runs and 595 runs batted in during his 10-year professional career.
The 29-year-old Warner works as an instructor at Saltdogs Spring Training during the off-season. Saltdogs players Josh Patton and Byron Embry also are instructors at the baseball training facility.
Bryan was originally selected by the Cleveland Indians in the 14th round of the 1994 draft. The California native played baseball at Glendale (CA) Community College. He now makes his residence in Lincoln.
