HFX Wanderers FC News Release
Halifax, N.S. - HFX Wanderers FC have boosted their attacking options with the signing of two speedy wingers. 28 year old left winger Mohamed Kourouma and Abd-El-Aziz Yousef, who is 19 and plays on the right, have both joined the soccer club.
Head coach Stephen Hart thinks the pair will be a handful for defenders in the new Canadian Premier League.
"Mohamed is like an old fashioned winger and brings a lot of penetration to the team," said Hart. "Yousef has good qualities, he is direct and gets in the penalty area."
Kourouma, who was born in Guinea, West Africa but raised in Montreal, is signing for the Wanderers after playing for two seasons with Miami in the USL Premier Development League.
"I'm excited. The team is really good and we have a lot of good players. I think we will do well, we have a lot of talent," Kourouma said.
The left winger said he's looking forward to demonstrating his speed, technique and hopefully goal scoring ability in front of the fans.
Joining him in signing for the team is Abd-El-Aziz Yousef who was born in Saudi Arabia before growing up in Vancouver.
He was trying out for a team in Holland when his agent got him in touch with the Wanderers.
Yousef describes himself as a fast player with vision to pick a pass, who likes to play right wing or as an attacking midfielder.
"This feels great it's a dream opportunity for me and I think it's amazing what they're doing in Halifax," Yousef said.
Both players have joined up with the team's training camp as the club continues to prepare for the new Canadian Premier League season.
The Wanderers begin on April 28 against Pacific FC on Vancouver Island.
The club's home opener will be the following weekend on May 4 against Hamilton's Forge FC at the Wanderers Grounds.
