HFX Wanderers FC Unveil First Ever Jerseys

April 4, 2019 - Canadian Premier League (CPL)
HFX Wanderers FC News Release

Halifax, NS - HFX Wanderers FC are proud to reveal the team's first ever home and away kits for the brand new Canadian Premier League.

The league and official league kit provider, Macron, a leader in the international teamwear market, are unveiling all custom-designed playing kits for the CPL's seven founding clubs HFX Wanderers FC, York9 FC, Forge FC, Valour FC, FC Edmonton, Cavalry FC and Pacific FC.

Macron designers worked in collaboration with all seven Canadian Premier League soccer clubs during the design process, developing high quality custom kits with unique looks to provide the needed professional technical features, while enhancing them with exciting graphic designs. The partnership negotiated by Canadian Soccer Business (CSB) on behalf of the Canadian Premier League makes it one of the few leagues that have custom-made kits league-wide.

As a collective, in-depth research went into the creative process for each kit that features the symbolism and identity of the club within the design. The wide range of vibrant and exciting colours, all enriched by design elements including pinstripes, tonal shading, mélange and camouflage effects, are sure to be crowd-pleasers on and off the pitch. Each jersey is inserted with a unique graphic symbol, image or letter that is representative of the club's identity, paying homage to the cities where the clubs will play.

The unique shape of the Halifax Citadel is the foundation for the club's harbour blue home jersey pattern and crest, with a "w" weave on the aqua ocean colour away shirt, inspired by the Atlantic Ocean and celebrating the Wanderers name.

"Finally being able to share our kit designs with our fans is yet another important step in the history of our club," said Derek Martin, club Founder and President. "Working with Macron to design kits that are unique and customized was a wonderful experience and I truly hope our fans are proud to wear our colours this season."

Both jerseys also display the classic Volkswagen symbol with the automaker becoming the club's shirt sponsor, in addition to being one of the founding sponsors of the league.

"The jerseys are awesome and you can really feel the soul of Halifax through their design," said Wanderers midfielder Kouamé Ouattara. "I believe the fans are going to go crazy seeing them."

Halifax-born player Scott Firth is also proud to wear the new Wanderers kits. "Our jerseys fit the Halifax theme very well and they look great," Firth said.

The Wanderers will be wearing the away kit for the first time when the team begins the new CPL season in B.C. against Pacific FC on April 28, before sporting the home kit at the Wanderers Grounds for the home opener against Forge FC from Hamilton on May 4.

The Wanderers team-authentic jersey (home and away) will be available online at: HFX Wanderers FC,for $119.99 CAD (Men's), $109.99 (Women's) CAD and Youth $99.99 CAD. Fans will be able to customize each jersey with either their favourite CPL player or own names and number for an additional $34.99 CAD.
