San Jose SaberCats News Release
SAN JOSE, Calif. (February 18, 2005) â With five receptions against the Los Angeles Avengers on Sunday at STAPLES Center (3:00 pm, NBC11), the SaberCats' BARRY WAGNER will add another career record to his legendary Arena Football League resume.
Already the AFL's all-time leader in scoring, touchdowns scored, rushing touchdowns, receiving yards and tackles, Wagner, who has caught 945 passes in his 14-year AFL career, needs five receptions to move ahead of former Albany/Indiana Firebird Eddie Brown as the league's career leader. Brown amassed 949 receptions during his 10-year career.
Wagner has played in all 10 series games against Los Angeles recording 29 receptions for 376 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Also, Los Angeles WR/LB GREG HOPKINS is seven receptions shy of becoming the 7th player in AFL history with 700 career receptions. Below is a list of the AFL's all-time pass catching greats.
