Dragons Sign Veteran WR/LB Sir Mawn Wilson

The Dragons added depth to their roster with the signing of six-year AFL veteran WR/LB Sir Mawn Wilson.

Last season with the Carolina Cobras, Wilson shone on defense with 27.5 tackles, an interception returned for a touchdown, four pass deflections and a sack. Offensively, he caught 24 passes for 214 yards and one score. In his AFL career, Wilson has played in 54 games with 95.5 tackles, four interceptions, 14 pass breakups, 104 receptions for 1,094 yards and 12 receiving touchdowns.

In Wilson's professional career, he has had stops with several NFL teams, including the Denver Broncos with whom he won Super Bowl XXXII with in 1997. Other teams include the Miami Dolphins in 1996 and New England Patriots in 1998.

In college, Wilson was a two-year starter at Syracuse where he was converted from safety to wide receiver four games into his freshman season. In his career at Syracuse, Wilson recorded 43 receptions for 656 yards and one touchdown.

In other news, the Dragons activated OS Kevin Swayne off Injured Reserve and placed FB/LB Chin Achebe and WR/DB DaShane Dennis on Injured Reserve.
