- Attendance Explosion: Through three weeks, average attendance for the 2005 season is 12,920, which is seven percent higher than the 2004 season average of 12,024, and one percent higher than the 2004 three-week average of 12,739. Attendance highlights for 2005 include six sellouts (Chicago, Columbus, Nashville, New York, Orlando and San Jose) and back-to-back per-game attendance records by the Georgia Force. Week 2 AFL attendance averaged 13,965 fans, which made it the second-highest average ever. The AFL's attendance goal in 2005 is to average 13,000 fans per game.

- AFL Ranks No. 12 in this week's Yahoo! Buzz Index: For the second time in three weeks the AFL landed on the Yahoo! Buzz Index, which measures the most searched terms on Yahoo!'s Web site. Following Week 3, the term "Arena Football League" ranked No. 12 on the sports index, meaning it was more searched than "New England Patriots" (No. 16), "New York Yankees" (No. 18) and "Lance Armstrong" (No. 20). "NASCAR" ranked No. 1. In addition, the "Philadelphia Soul" (No. 3) and "Dallas Desperados" (No. 7) ranked high in the sports "Movers" section, which measures the highest one-day increase in searches.
- Commissioner Baker profiled in New York Times "On The Road" column: The New York Times profiled Commissioner David Baker on Tuesday, February 15 in its business-themed "On the Road" column, which covers the ordeals of frequent business travelers. The article chronicled the challenges the Commissioner faces when traveling because of his size (6-9, 400 pounds). But it also recognized the AFL's continued growth and it's commitment to its fans. Writer Joe Sharkey penned, "Mr. Baker still flies mostly commercial, with its attendant discomforts, because âI get to connect with our fans,' he said."
