
Waddell Helps Marauders Conquer Tampa

Tampa, FL - The Bradenton Marauders (3-4) got another great start from LHP Brandon Waddell (W, 1-0) while defeating the Tampa Yankees (5-2) 4-1 on Wednesday night at Steinbrenner Field. Waddell has opened the season with 11 scoreless innings. He turned in six against Tampa, allowing just three hits and striking out three.
Bradenton opened the scoring in the fourth inning against Ian Clarkin (L, 0-1). SS Kevin Newman singled and moved to sec- ond on a sacrifice bunt by 2B Kevin Kramer. After a walk to 3B Conner Joe, 1B Jerrick Suiter flew out to right field. New- man tagged up at second and wound up scoring on an errant throw back to the infield.
CF Pablo Reyes doubled the Marauders' lead in the fifth inning. His one-out double brought home C Taylor Gushue. New- man followed with a sacrifice fly to plate LF Logan Hill and extend the lead to 3-0. Clarkin was chased in the following in- ning by Dh Jordan Luplow's one-out RBI single.
RHP Edgar Santana fired two more scoreless innings for the Marauders. He has yet to allow a run in seven frames stretched across three appearances. RHP Nick Neumann pitched the ninth and surrendered the only run.
