
VooDoo to hold auditions for 2005 VooDoo Dolls

The New Orleans VooDoo will hold preliminary tryouts for their official dance team, the New Orleans VooDoo Dolls, on Saturday, December 4 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., inside the Saints and VooDoo practice facility at 5800 Airline Drive in Metairie.
As part of auditions for the New Orleans VooDoo Dolls, the VooDoo is looking for outgoing energetic women to perform at New Orleans VooDoo Arena Football games and events, performing sizzling dance routines to hot music. Women of all ages and dancing experience are encouraged to participate. With their application fee, each participant receives a New Orleans VooDoo crop top, bumper sticker, assorted offers from sponsors and a certificate of completion for the tryout seminar.
Registration will begin at 12:00 p.m., with tryouts beginning promptly at 1:00 p.m. Applicants must be 18 years of age on or before December 4th and should come dressed in a two piece outfit (ex. sports bra or cropped top and shorts). Flesh colored sheer tights are allowed but not required. Footwear should be at the participant's discretion. Hair should be worn down. Applications should include a photo, head shot or full body. A $40 dollar registration fee (cash or money order only) and valid photo ID with date of birth is required. Registration can be made in advance for $35. All prepaid fees must be brought to the Saints facility at 5800 Airline Drive, Metairie by 5:00 p.m., Friday December 3rd. The preliminary tryouts are closed to spectators.
Finalists, who will be selected from the preliminary tryouts, will be required to attend practices the following week to prepare for the final tryouts. Finalists will also attend and be introduced on the field at the Saints-Panthers game on December 5. Game tickets will be provided to the finalists.
Finalists that advance past the first round will compete in the Final Tryouts on Thursday, December 9th in the Center Court of the New Orleans Centre (adjacent to the Louisiana Superdome at Poydras and LaSalle St.), from 6:30 p.m to 8:30 p.m, in the Center Court (second floor corridor in front of Macy's). The final audition and selections will be open to the public.
The inaugural New Orleans VooDoo Dolls dance team will be publicly introduced at the Saints-Atlanta game on December 26.
