VooDoo select two in Dispersal Draft

The New Orleans VooDoo added DB KEON RAYMOND and DL Damien Bauman to their roster today through the Arena Football League's Dispersal Draft. The club selected Raymond from the Nashville Kats with the fifth overall pick in the first round of the draft, a choice which was previously acquired from the New York Dragons. They chose Bauman from the Austin Wranglers with the 21st pick overall in the second round. The draft consisted of the 44 players remaining under contract to the Kats and Wranglers franchises.

Raymond (5-10, 190, Middle Tennessee State) started15 games at DB for the Kats in 2007 and made 70 tackles and three interceptions in his rookie AFL season. He finished third on the Kats in tackles and second in interceptions. Prior to joining the Kats, Raymond went to training camp with the Tennessee Titans in 2006. He played two seasons at Middle Tennessee State after transferring from Highland (KS) Community College.

Bauman (6-3, 300, Nebraska) spent the first six games of the 2007 season with the Kansas City Brigade before joining the Wranglers at midseason, where he appeared in nine contests. In 2007, he made 11 tackles and blocked one kick. Bauman played tight end for the Cornhuskers before converting to a lineman in the AFL
