Destroyers Acquire Kicker Mark Lewis and Linebacker Matt Sinclair In AFL Dispersal Draft

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The 2007 National Conference champion Columbus Destroyers have acquired kicker Mark Lewis and linebacker Matt Sinclair, Head Coach Doug Kay announced today. As is club policy, terms were not disclosed.

Lewis (5-9, 180, Florida International) was selected by the Destroyers with the sixth overall pick in the dispersal draft. The 2007 Arena Football League Kicker of the Year totaled 155 points (2nd in the AFL), converted a career-high 110-of-118 extra point attempts (3rd in the AFL) and made good on 15-of-25 field goal attempts (T-4th in the AFL). This is his second stint with the Destroyers (2006) where he converted a career-long 53-yard field goal attempt (Mar. 25, 2006 at Colorado).

Sinclair (6-1, 244, Illinois) was selected as the 23rd overall pick in the dispersal draft and has been a part of three NFL training camps with the Baltimore Ravens (2005), Miami Dolphins (2006) and the Washington Redskins (2007). He has spent the past two seasons (2006-07) with the Frankfurt Galaxy of NFL Europe. He appeared in 45 games with the Fighting Illini (2001-04) and accumulated 278 tackles, 18 tackles for loss of yardage and 10 quarterback sacks.
