The Salem-Keizer Volcanoes, Northwest League Affiliate of the 2010, 2012 World Series Champion, San Francisco Giants has added Spanish updates to articles published on the Volcanoes official team blog, Volcanoes Watching aka "Observar Volcanes en español " http://www.volcanoesfan.com/

"The Volcanoes are going into our 17th season in 2013 and we have always celebrated and been committed to the diverse make up of our loyal fan base," said Jerry Walker, Volcanoes Owner & President. "It became clear at the end of this season that both because of the Giants' second World Championship in three years and the growing dynamic of Oregon's population that a Spanish option for our fans would be appreciated and used right away."

Walker noted that the Volcanoes multilingual project will be done in phases with the eventual goal in two seasons of a Spanish mobile app that would also assist in ticket sales and customer notifications in Spanish of upcoming promotions. The Volcanoes are also researching if a third language (yet to be determined) is needed based on fan demographics.

"When Lisa, Mickey, I, Rick Nelson and Crater were in the World Series parade this year it was really inspiring seeing how much the Giants and its affiliates inspire so many parts of our global community. We at the Volcanoes are committed to reaching our full fan base, because all our fans are the heart of what makes the Volcanoes successful," Walker said.
