Vipers Sign Former Dino

The Calgary Vipers Professional Baseball Club have signed pitcher Shawn Hetherington to a 2011 North American League contract. The Delta, British Columbia resident is a former member of the University of Calgary Dinos' baseball program and after two years he most recently played three seasons at the University of British Columbia in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. The 6'7" 220-pounder enters his first professional season after posting a 3-0 record with five saves and a 1.91 earned run average in 37.2 innings pitched for UBC earlier this year. The 23-year-old right-hander becomes the fourth Canadian on the Snakes' roster.

Calgary hits the road for a six game series in Edmonton against the Capitals starting on Tuesday May 31st at 7:05 PM MDT.

The Vipers return home to Calgary and Foothills Stadium on Monday June 6th at 6:30 PM MDT as they host the Edmonton Capitals.
