Even with the ball in their star players hand, the Vipers couldn't get a helping hand from the officials when they needed it at crunch time. On two consecutive drives to the basket by CJ Watson with the Vipers trailing the officials didn't award free throws to the Vipers despite apparent contact on his drive to the hoop, as the Vipers fell to the Sioux Falls Skyforce 114-110 at the Sioux Falls Arena. The Vipers have now lost consecutive games for the first time this season and have lost three out of their last four games.

The Vipers received 30 point efforts from Waston and forward Gabe Muoneke in the loss and recived big contributions from center Jesse Smith who finished with a double-double of 16 points and 15 rebounds. Kenny Taylor also added 16 points in the Rio Grande Valley loss.

Sioux Falls trailed by five at half time and by as many as eight points in the game. However, a furious third quarter, which saw the SkyForce outscore the Vipers by seven, paced the way for the comeback victory. Kasib Powell and Elton Nesbitt each chipped in with 26 points to the lead the scoring effort from the Skyforce. Forward Damone brown added 15 points and 10 rebounds in the Sioux Falls win.

Rio Grande Valley will now travel to North Dakota for a Saturday night game versus the defending D-League Champion Dakota Wizards with a tip-off scheduled for 7:00 pm. Rio Grande Valley will likely be without newly acquired forward Stanley Asumnu who left the game after the third quarter with an ankle injury.
