
Veteran Hartlieb re-signs with Blades

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades president & general manager Craig Brush, along with head coach Malcolm Cameron announced today that the team has re-signed forward Ernie Hartlieb to a contract for the 2008-09 season.
Hartlieb is coming off his best season as an Everblade after posting 65 points (24g, 41a) and 87 penalty minutes in 72 regular season games during the 2007-08 campaign. The 29-year-old is entering his fifth season with the Everblades and his ninth professional season overall in 2008-09. Hartlieb had a milestone year in 2007-08 reaching career markers by scoring his 300th career point, 100th professional goal and 200th career assist.
"Ernie really had a tremendous season for us last year." Brush said. "He brings solid veteran leadership into the locker room. He's worked really hard this off-season to rehab his shoulder and we're really excited and looking forward to having him back as a member of this organization."
In addition to Hartlieb reaching career milestones, the Warren, Michigan native also reached milestones in his Everblades career in 2007-08 scoring his 100th point and an Everblade, skating in his 200th game as an Everblade and stringing together his longest career point-scoring streak with a point in 10 straight games. Overall in his four seasons with the Everblades, the 2006 ECHL All-Star has compiled 164 points (53g, 111a) in 204 games.
"I am really excited to be back with the Everblades, and am looking forward to a good season with our new coach Malcolm Cameron." Hartlieb added. "I'm real excited to get back on the ice and try to bring the Blades the Kelly Cup, and I'm also looking forward to seeing all the fans again!"
In his eight years as a pro, Hartlieb has scored 105 career goals and added 209 assists for 314 points in 460 games. Prior to turning pro, Hartlieb spent four seasons with Miami (Ohio) University, where he scored 55 points (20g, 35a) in 116 career games.
