Veteran Defensive Lineman Keith Bowers Returns to the Sharks
JACKSONVILLE - Defensive Lineman Keith Bowers (6'2", 285) resigned with the Jacksonville Sharks for his fifth season of arena football and fifth season with the Sharks. Bowers is the only defensive player on the Sharks roster that was a part of both NAL Championship rosters from Jacksonville's 2017 and 2019 seasons.
In 2019, Bowers played all 16 games for the Sharks, where he had 12.5 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, five sacks, and one fumble recovery. In 2018, Bowers played in 15 games for the Sharks and had 24.5 tackles, 7.5 sacks, one pass breakup, one forced fumble, and one safety. In 2017, Bowers played in five games for the Sharks, where he landed 10.5 tackles, 8.5 sacks, and three forced fumbles. He began his arena football career with the Sharks in 2016 where he played briefly towards the end of the season, helping the team to the playoffs and an appearance in the American Conference Championship game.
Bowers attended the University of Maryland from 2011-2015. He played in 46 games and recorded 119 tackles total, five sacks, and recovered two fumbles.
Bowers is from West Palm Beach, FL, where he attended William T. Dwyer High School. In 2009 and 2010, he helped lead his team to the State Championships. During his senior year, he recorded 15 sacks.
