Veteran Defenseman Joins Storm

(Toledo, Ohio) The Toledo Storm, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Blackhawks, announced today that they have added defenseman Dan Watson for the 2006-2007 season.

"Watson is a steady, solid defenseman," said Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Nick Vitucci. "He's a well-traveled player that produces on the ice, but can also provide great leadership to our younger guys,"

The 2006-07 season will be Watson's 17th of his career, during which time he has skated for nine different hockey clubs including the ECHL's Dayton Bombers and the Long Beach Ice Dogs. The native of Glencoe, Ontario also spent six seasons in the American Hockey League with the Syracuse Crunch, Cleveland Barons, and the Providence Bruins. During his 16-year playing career, Watson has accumulated 123 regular season points (23 G, 100 A) while racking up nearly 400 minutes in penalties - 114 of which came during the 2004-2005 season with Long Beach. He has also appeared in 33 career playoff games, tallying 3 points (2 G, 1 A) in those games.

The 16th Season of Toledo Storm Hockey debuts on October 20th at the Toledo Sports Arena when the Storm take on the archrival Dayton Bombers at 7:35.
