BURLINGTON, VT - Reliever Kolton Mahoney tossed five scoreless innings, Kane Sweeney went 3-for-5 and Ricardo Ferreira hit a solo homer to lead the Staten Isand Yankees to a 7-2 New York-Penn League victory over the Vermont Lake Monsters Sunday evening at historic Centennial Field.
Vermont got on the board in the first on back-to-back singles followed by a sacrifice fly from Miguel Mercedes, who gave the Lake Monsters a 2-1 lead in the third with a two-out RBI single to center. Mercedes was 2-for-3 on the day and is 5-for-6 in the series to raise his batting average to .342 overall.

The Yankees added two more runs in the inning as they put together four straight singles after the home run.
