
Veland returns to Beef as defensive coordinator

Omaha, Nebraska â Omaha Beef Football is pleased to announce today that Tony Veland will return to the coaching staff as Defensive Coordinator for the 2005 season.
"We are very happy to have Tony Veland return as the Defensive Coordinator of the Omaha Beef." said Robert Fuller, Omaha Beef Football Head Coach. "Tony brings a great deal of knowledge and experience to our program."
Veland played for Nebraska during the 92 through 95 seasons. While at Nebraska he participated in three Orange Bowls and one Fiesta bowl with two National Championships. He also played in the Hula Bowl after completing his senior year of eligibility. After graduating from the University of Nebraska â Lincoln, Veland played two seasons for the Denver Broncos of the National Football League during the 96 and 97 seasons and then for the Carolina Panthers in the 98 season. Veland played with the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 32 as they defeated the Green Bay Packers following the 97 season.
Fuller continues..."Tony is a great teacher and the players on this team will run through walls for him. He is a great role model for our guys both on and off the field."
"I am very excited to be accepting the position of Defensive Coordinator with the Beef," said Veland. "I have definitely enjoyed being involved with the Beef over the past two seasons, and to be offered the position shows that they have a ton of respect for me, and belief in my ability to lead our defensive unit. Working with Coach Fuller again will be an absolute treat as his intensity, along with the caliber of talent that we field, will make for a very successful year. I look forward to the season getting underway."
