Peoria Rough Riders News Release

Peoria, Illinois – Even Mother Nature with her sub wind chill temperatures, blowing and drifting snow conditions could prevent 20 young men from having the opportunity to become part of Peoria Rough Riders football last Saturday during tryouts held at the Dragons Dome in Pekin, Illinois.

Rough Rider Head Coach Bruce Cowdrey and his staff evaluated each participant as they completed 40-yard sprints, pro shuffle, standing long jump and various individual drills during the tryout. Rough Rider Head Coach Bruce Cowdrey commented, "I am very apperceive of the hard work and effort of these young men not only in getting here in this weather, but also the hard work they did on the field. There were two or three young men here today that the coaches and I will evaluate and possibly bring to camp that we feel can help us bring a championship to Peoria in 2005."

The Peoria Rough Riders open up their season on March 17th in Dayton OH against the Dayton Warbirds. Peoria's first home game is scheduled for April 16th.

You can get your 2005 Rough Riders season tickets by calling the Peoria Rough Riders office at 309-637-7777 or by checking the website under season tickets. Remember NO NETS!!! That means plenty of footballs into the stands in the endzones.
