Valour FC Reveals 2020 Schedule

WINNIPEG, MB. - The Canadian Premier League today released the 2020 schedule presented by WestJet. Valour FC will kick off the 2020 campaign at York Lions Stadium against York9 FC on Friday, April 17th. The team's home opener will take place Saturday, May 2nd, at 2:00 p.m. CT against the visiting Atlético Ottawa, new to the CPL in 2020.
This year, each CPL club will play 28 regular season games (14 home/14 away) and will move to a single table format. The new format provides fans with a more competitive season. The top three Clubs will move to a playoff series in order to proceed to the finals. At the conclusion of the season, the first-place team will earn a bye to the finals while the second and third place teams will compete in a playoff game to determine who advances.
The 2020 home schedule will feature one Friday night match, seven Saturday matchups and four Sunday competitions, with over 90% of CPL matches being played on holidays or weekends in 2020.
Some other highlights of the 28-match schedule include a Canada Day meeting at home against Forge FC (2:00 p.m. CT) and a Labour Day weekend match-up against Cavalry FC at IG Field (September 6, 2:00 p.m. CT). Valour will close out the season at TD Place on Sunday, October 4th against Atlético Ottawa.
