ValleyCats Announce 2010 Schedule

TROY, N.Y. - The Tri-City ValleyCats, Short-Season Single-A affiliate of the Houston Astros, have officially announced its 2010 schedule. The New York-Penn League organization will open its ninth season at home with a three game series against the Oneonta Tigers starting on Friday, June 18 at 7 pm.

The home schedule features 38 games including matchups against the Brooklyn Cyclones, affiliate of the New York Mets on July 17-19, the Lowell Spinners, affiliate of the Boston Red Sox on June 26-27 and July 28-30 and the New York Yankees affiliate Staten Island on August 13-15.

The start times for ValleyCats home games remain the same in 2010. Monday through Friday games commence at 7 pm and Sunday games at 5 pm. Additionally, the 'Cats will host two 6 pm starts (July 4-5) and two 11 am starts (July 19 & August 12).

The ValleyCats are coming off an extremely successful campaign in 2009 in which the organization eclipsed its single season attendance record for the sixth consecutive season (145,976) and was recognized by its peers in the baseball community for its excellence in promotional activities. The organization is poised to welcome the one millionth fan of its history during the first home series.

The 2010 promotional schedule is set to be released on Thursday, January 14 with information about fireworks, giveaways and more. In preparation of another fun-filled season at "The Joe", the ValleyCats will recap the top 10 promotions of the 2009 season on its website, www.tcvalleycats.com. The countdown commences on January 4.
