Central Islip, N.Y., Feb. 14, 2017) - On Tuesday, February 14, the Long Island Ducks continued their annual tradition by visiting patients who were spending Valentine's Day in the pediatric units of local hospitals. Among those visiting the hospitals were Long Island's favorite mascot, QuackerJack, co-owner/coach Buddy Harrelson, manager Kevin Baez and the Ducks Street Team. Each child received a Valentine's Day card signed by QuackerJack and hand delivered from the lovable mascot himself.
The visits brought smiles to the faces of children and their parents at each location. Many posed for pictures, gave high fives and enjoyed the Valentine's Day festivities. Children spent time playing games with both Kevin and Buddy, and members of the local media also stopped by to document the memorable day.
The Long Island Ducks are members of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball and play their home games at Bethpage Ballpark. For further information, call (631) 940-DUCK or visit www.liducks.com.
