Utah Flash Trade for Longar
November 3, 2010 - NBA G League (G League)
Utah Flash News Release
OREM, UT Nov. 3, 2010 - The Utah Flash today announced a trade with the Bakersfield Jam. The Flash are sending their third round pick D'Andre Bell to Bakersfield in return for Jam Forward Longar Longar, who in 25 NBA Development League games averaged seven points and six rebounds per game.
As a senior at Oklahoma in 2007-08, Longar started in 22 of his 33 games and averaged 25.8 minutes per contest, and was the team's second-leading scorer (11.4 ppg), rebounder (5.6 rpg) and field goal shooter (.488). Longar also led the squad with 33 blocked shots. He was named to league's All-Improved Team by a panel of sportswriters who cover the Big 12 Conference.
"By adding Longar Longar to our team we address our need to continue to strengthen our front line," said Head Coach Kevin Young. "Along with being a defensive presence inside, Longar brings the ability to score in the low post, as well as being able to step away from the basket and make shots. With his skill set, and are experience in our league, we feel like this trade makes perfect sense for us."
The Flash play their home opener on December 3rd against former Flash Head Coach Brad Jones and the Austin Toros. Tickets are still available for the 5 Game All You Can Eat Plan. Season Tickets are also available and can be purchased by calling 801-434-4667.
