Utah Flash To Host Draft Party At Pinnacle Security November 5

PROVO, Utah, Nov. 2, 2009 - The Utah Flash and Pinnacle Security are hosting their annual NBA Development League Draft party at the Pinnacle Security Gymnasium on Thursday, Nov. 5 beginning at 5 p.m. MT.
The Pinnacle Gym, which also serves as the Flash's main practice and training facility, is located at 1290 South Sandhill Road in Orem, on the East side of I-15 at the University Parkway exit.
The draft is eight rounds and will be conducted via conference call from NBA D-League draft headquarters at the NBA TV studios in Atlanta and at locations in each of the 16 league cities. The ninth-annual event will be telecast on NBA TV and streamed on-line (www.nba.com/dleague) beginning at 5 p.m.
The Flash have the fifth selection in the first round and the twelfth pick in the second round of the serpentine draft. The unique draft format allows a team who has the last pick in the first round to have the first pick in the following round. The Tulsa 66ers have the first overall selection.
Flash fans are afforded an up-close look at how a professional basketball draft works by being able to look directly into the "war room stage" at the draft party. In addition there will be food and drink as well as, fun that includes inflatables from the Flash's famous Kids Zone and prizes that include team merchandise, season and group tickets, as well as packages from Flash sponsors.
Flash head coach Brad Jones will provide in-house commentary on draft picks for fans, giving insight into the thought process behind the player selections. NBA TV's draft coverage will be shown on the Pinnacle theatre big screen and the Jazz-San Antonio Spurs game will also be shown. Flash fans will also have a chance to meet the newest addition to the Flash coaching staff, Mark Madsen.
Season and group tickets remain on sale and can be purchased by calling 801-434-HOOP. The Flash opens its season at Tulsa on Nov. 27, with the home opener slated for Dec. 7 against the Dakota Wizards.
