Utah Flash Announce 2009-10 Schedule

PROVO, August 14, 2009 - The Utah Flash announced its 2009-10 schedule today. The NBA Development League affiliate of the Utah Jazz and Atlanta Hawks will open its third season with a five-game road trip. The Flash will then return to Orem to host the Dakota Wizards. Tipoff will be at 7 p.m. at the McKay Events Center.
The Flash home stand will be short as they head out on the road again after only three games. The team is scheduled to play 14 of their first 20 games on the road.
"Having 14 of our first 20 games on the road will be tough, but if we can get through that period I think we can really compete at the end of the season," head coach Brad Jones said.
The Flash will cap off a successful year by playing the Albuquerque Thunderbirds on New Year's Eve.
"We have some exciting ideas planned of our New Year's Eve game," said team president Joe Brown. "That should be one of the more fun and memorable games of the year."
Other noteworthy dates on the Utah Flash schedule include the D-League Showcase in January which will be held in Boise, Idaho and the D-League All-Star game in February which will be held in Dallas, Texas.
Also, for the first time, the NBA D-League will feature two conferences, East and West, for the 2009-10 season. The Eastern Conference will consist of the Dakota Wizards, Erie BayHawks, Fort Wayne Mad Ants, Iowa Energy, Maine Red Claws, Sioux Falls Skyforce and Springfield Armor, while the Western Conference includes the Albuquerque Thunderbirds, Austin Toros, Bakersfield Jam, Los Angeles D-Fenders, Idaho Stampede, Reno Bighorns, Rio Grande Valley Vipers, Tulsa 66ers and Utah Flash.
All Utah Flash home games will be played at the McKay Events Center at 7 p.m. Flash fans can follow the team through NBA Futurecast, the NBA D-League's web-streaming platform. They can watch every Utah Flash game, both home and away, live online for free at www.nba.com/futurecast.
