Coleman Collins Featured in New York Fashion Show

Fort Wayne, IN (August 14, 2009)- Former Mad Ants forward Coleman Collins is living the true NBA lifestyle by participating in the JOE Joseph Abboud & NBA Block Party at JCPenney in Manhattan on Saturday, August 15th. The event highlights include special appearances by NBA players and legends in a run-way fashion show.

Marty Staff, President & CEO JA Apparel Corp. & JCPenney will mark the launch of JOE Joseph Abboud, the new designer menswear collection of business casual attire including shirts, sweaters, ties, outerwear, as well as tailored clothing, available exclusively at JCPenney, at the JOE Joseph Abboud NBA Block Party celebration.

Collins will participate in this events with NBA stars including Chris Duhon (New York Knicks guard), Randy Foye (Washington Wizards guard), Jordan Hill (Knicks first round draft pick), Toney Douglas (Knicks first round draft pick), Terrence Williams (New Jersey Nets first round draft pick), Walt "Clyde" Frazier (NBA Legend), John Starks (NBA Legend), Allan Houston (NBA Legend), Gary Forbes (NBA D-League), and The Nets Dancers.

"I think it will be fun," Collins said. "It's always fun to do something you have never done before and step out of your comfort zone. I am excited to meet some of the NBA legends that I grew up watching. It is scary at the same time because I don't know if I am going to be good at it, but I am very excited."

About the NBA Development League:

The NBA Development League, founded in 2001, is the NBA's official minor league and featured 16 teams with direct affiliations to NBA teams during the 2008-09 season. This Fall, two new NBA D-League teams will begin play in Portland, Maine and Springfield, Mass.-the birthplace of basketball. Eighty-four former NBA Development League players were on 2008-09 NBA end-of-season rosters, amounting to almost 20 percent of NBA players, and the league continues to develop coaches, referees, and front office staff for the NBA and its teams.
