USL Championship Announces LouCity's 2024 Schedule

December 18, 2023 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Louisville City FC News Release

Louisville City FC fans can mark their calendars earlier than ever thanks to Monday's release of 2024 USL Championship schedule.

LouCity's 10th anniversary season kicks off March 16 at El Paso Locomotive FC before the home opener March 23 against Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC. Next year's slate consists of 34 games in all - 17 at Lynn Family Stadium, 17 away - and runs through the final weekend of October.

Clubs will vie for top-eight finishes to advance to 2024's playoffs. Along with league play, City will participate in 2024's Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup tournament and explore opportunities for international friendlies after last year hosting clubs from Germany and Mexico.

Game times and broadcast details will be released later with updated listings at LouCity.com/schedule. Season, group and premium tickets are already available by visiting LouCity.com/tickets. Call (502) LOU-CITY during regular business hours to speak to a representative.

"The schedule release is always an exciting time for fans and for the club," said coach Danny Cruz. "It puts everyone in a position to plan accordingly with some exciting games on the calendar. I am looking forward to getting back on the field with our group and doing everything that we can to lift a trophy for this club and this community."

Next year, each USL Championship club will play its fellow conference opponents in a home-and-home series for 22 games, and then play each of the 12 teams from the opposing conference - six games at home, six away - to make up the 34-game schedule.

City's home dates fall mostly on Saturdays, with a pair of Wednesday (May 29, October 2) and Friday (July 19, September 6) fixtures in the mix. Highlights at Lynn Family Stadium include an August 10 showdown with Western Conference power Sacramento Republic FC; an Eastern Conference Final rematch against the Charleston Battery on August 17; the Tampa Bay Rowdies' annual visit to Louisville on October 12; and a regular season finale October 26 against 2023 USL Championship title winner Phoenix Rising FC.

Additionally, LouCity will complete its rivalry series versus Indy Eleven with an April 6 home game and October 5 away return.

Cruz's squad will be looking to build on last season's ninth-straight run to the league's Eastern Conference Final. LouCity remains the only club to win back-to-back USL Championship titles, which it accomplished in 2017 and 2018.
