USHL Players of the Week Named for Week 6

The United States Hockey League announced the Forward, Defenseman and Goaltender of the Week for Week 6 of the 2018-19 season. Sioux City Musketeers forward Bobby Brink was named Forward of the Week for the first time, Green Bay Gamblers defenseman Nick Leitner picked up his second weekly award of the season and Des Moines Buccaneers goaltender Roman Durny earned his first-ever Goaltender of the Week award. Brink recorded seven points in three games last week, including a hat trick on Saturday. Leitner dished out three assists in a pair of Green Bay victories over the weekend. Durny, the Anaheim Ducks prospect, led the Buccaneers to two victories, stopping 41 of 43 shots on Friday before posting a 23-save shutout on Sunday. The USHL is America's only Tier 1 junior hockey league, and continues to lead the world in the advancement of Division I college hockey athletes.
Forward: Bobby Brink - Sioux City Musketeers

Brink scored a goal and added an assist on Tuesday against Waterloo, dished out two more assists in the Musketeers' 4-1 victory over Fargo on Thursday and scored all three of his team's goals, his first USHL hat trick, in Sioux City's 3-2 win over the Omaha Lancers on Friday night. The University of Denver commit has been on fire as of late, sporting a four-game multi-point streak dating back to Oct. 27. In those four contests, Brink has recorded nine points (5G, 4A). He has earned at least one point in 11 of his 13 games this season and currently sits second among all USHL players in scoring with 22 points (8G, 14A) in 13 games, only behind teammate and Calgary Flames prospect Martin Pospisil. It has been a breakout season for the Minnetonka, MN native, his first full season in the USHL. Brink played in 13 games with Sioux City last season, tallying four points (2G, 2A) before playing eight Clark Cup Playoffs games with Team USA, where he recorded a pair of assists. He was listed on October's NHL Central Scouting Preliminary Players to Watch List ahead of the 2019 NHL Draft and was selected 16th overall by Sioux City in the 2017 USHL Phase I Draft. Before his time in the USHL, Brink previously played for Minnetonka High (USHS).
Defenseman: Nick Leitner - Green Bay Gamblers

Leitner dished out an assist on the eventual game-winning goal in Green Bay's 5-3 victory in Chicago on Friday, and followed it up by adding two more helpers as the Gamblers picked up a commanding 7-2 win in Cedar Rapids on Saturday. It is the second weekly award of the season for the Bemidji, MN native, who was also named USHL Defenseman of the Week on Oct. 15. Leitner now has 10 assists in 12 games this season, placing him in second place among all USHL defenseman in assists and in a tie for second in points. He also leads all Gamblers players in points. Prior to his time in Green Bay, Leitner spend two seasons (2016-18) with the Des Moines Buccaneers, recording 12 points (2G, 10A) in 86 games to go along with a +11 rating. He suited up for Bemidji High (MN) prior to coming to the USHL before the 2016-17 season. Leitner was selected in the second round, 18th overall by Des Moines in the 2016 USHL Phase II Draft and was acquired by Green Bay via trade on May 1.
Goaltender: Roman Durny - Des Moines Buccaneers
2-0-0-0, 1.00 GAA, .970 SV%
Durny stopped 41 of the 43 shots he faced in Des Moines' 5-2 victory over the Tri-City Storm on Friday. The Anaheim Ducks prospect then shut out the Sioux Falls Stampede on Sunday, making 23 saves for his first shutout of the season as the Buccaneers rolled to a 7-0 win over the Stampede to extend his team's winning streak to four games. Durny has now won each of his last three starts, moving him to 7-3-0-0 on the season, to go along with an impressive 2.38 GAA and .923 SV%. His 2.38 GAA is good for second among all USHL goaltenders, while his .923 SV% is third in the league. He has stopped 25 or more shots in eight of his 10 appearances and 312 shots in total, also second among all USHL goaltenders. Durny is playing in his first full USHL season after joining the Buccaneers midway through the 2017-18 campaign. In 25 appearances last season, Durny posted an identical 2.38 GAA to go along with a .920 SV% and a pair of shutouts. Following the season, he was selected in the fifth round, 147th overall by the Anaheim Ducks at the 2018 NHL Draft in Dallas, TX. Durny is a native of Liptovsky Mikulas, SVK and previously played for HK 32 Liptovsky Mikulas in Slovakia.
