A goal in the first and two in the second for the U.S. National Team Development Program doomed the Waterloo Black Hawks to a 3-1 loss Saturday at Young Arena.
Bryan Rust whacked in a rebound 3:10 into the first period to put Waterloo behind. Brandon Saad and Justin Faulk added to the lead in the second. The Hawks dodged a shutout thanks to Scott Wamsganz's goal, set up by Bryce Ravndalen, at 9:16 of the third.
Waterloo's third consecutive home game is Friday against the Des Moines Buccaneers. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive the final installment of 2009-2010 iWireless player cards, and 500 people will get a water bottle, courtesy of Veridian Credit Union.
